Usagi wanders the land on a musha shugy, occasionally selling his services as a bodyguard. The main character is a rabbit rnin, Miyamoto Usagi, whom Sakai based partially on the famous swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. It is set primarily at the beginning of the Edo period of Japanese history and features anthropomorphic animals replacing humans.

This anime is based off the 1961 movie "Yojimbo" by Akira Kurosawa. With two rival syndicates roaming the streets and a dark violent past, the town of Kimujuku isn't what it appears to be.
The atmosphere is great, the art decor and studio Ghibli films playing in the background is a nice touch. George quickly realizes that he is unwelcome and is warned to leave as soon as possible. Came in for a late dinner, around 7pm on a weeknight, and I have had Yojimbo plenty of times now, and would rate it 4/5 each time.
